The head of Ripple expressed criticism of JPMorgan and the SEC

Jan 20, 2024

Representatives of Digital Asset News published an interview with Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse. In this conversation, the expert expressed his point of view regarding the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs and its impact on the crypto industry. According to the entrepreneur, this confirms that more and more organizations are beginning to actively use digital assets. Garlinghouse also expressed his criticism of several well-known personalities.

He also commented on the statement of the executive director of JPMorgan Chase bank, James Dimon, who claimed that cryptocurrencies are mainly used for money laundering or tax evasion. The representative of the crypto industry considers this view to be erroneous and stressed that Ripple helps financial institutions use blockchain technologies to improve business processes and reduce costs.

Garlinghouse also expressed his criticism of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its chairman Gary Gensler for their approach to regulating the crypto industry. He noted that the actions of this supervisory authority are often subject to political influence from the United States authorities. Nevertheless, the approval of the ETF, in his opinion, is an immediate confirmation that the crypto industry continues to develop and strengthen, despite the obstacles created by the SEC.

The specialist also expressed concerns about possible problems that the United States and other countries may face in connection with violations of rules and regulations in the field of cryptocurrencies.

In addition, Garlinghouse shared his thoughts on investment strategies. He stressed the importance of profit-taking and advised against relying on leverage. The expert stressed that it is important to invest only what you can afford to lose, and not consider anything a fraud until it is proven. At the end of the interview, the specialist expressed confidence in the huge potential for the development of blockchain technologies and advised to follow the developments of the "Satoshi virtual machine" and the "wrapped 2nd level bitcoin-ZK".
