In a recent proposal, the Aave community has put forth plans to discontinue operations of Aave V3 on three underperforming networks. According to the official information, this decision comes as part of a strategic move to optimize resources and focus on more profitable platforms.

Identified Networks for Shutdown

The networks identified for shutdown are

  • zkSync
  • Metis
  • Sonneium
, which have reported annual revenues between $3,000 and $50,000. These figures are considered inadequate by the Aave community to sustain operational costs effectively.

Proposal for Revenue Increase

The proposal stipulates that if there is no significant increase in revenue within the next 12 months, the process to abandon these networks will commence. This move reflects Aave's commitment to maintaining financial viability while ensuring that resources are allocated to more lucrative ventures.

The Ethereum network recently underwent a significant upgrade with the Fusaka upgrade, enhancing scalability and security through key EIPs. This development contrasts with Aave's decision to discontinue operations on underperforming networks. For more details, see read more.
