Animoca Brands Introduces "Formula E: High Voltage" Web3 Racing Game Adventure

Oct 17, 2023

Animoca Brands, in partnership with Ember, is gearing up for the release of their newest Web3 game, "Formula E: High Voltage," scheduled for October 19. This upcoming electric car racing game is set to incorporate elements from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, including challenging city-centered tracks, providing players with an immersive racing experience.

The game will be built on the Flow blockchain, renowned for its energy-efficient attributes. This decision not only resonates with the electric car theme of the game but also enables digital ownership of in-game items in the form of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). Given the growing concerns about the environmental impact associated with blockchain activities, the choice of the Flow blockchain underscores a shift towards more environmentally sustainable entertainment options within the open metaverse.

Participation in "Formula E: High Voltage" will necessitate the possession of four NFTs: a pair of cars and two drivers. What sets this game apart is that each car and driver is an NFT, each with unique rarity levels and skills. The game proudly showcases the GEN3 race car, widely recognized as the epitome of efficiency in electric race cars. Players can also anticipate the inclusion of other official and fantasy cars and drivers, including the renowned Jake Dennis, the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Champion, and his Andretti Porsche 99X Electric GEN3 car.

Starting from October 17, 2023, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to acquire Solo and Team NFT Crates via the game's official platform. The Solo NFT Crate, available at a price range of $20 to $30, will contain either an official or fantasy car or driver NFT. In contrast, the Team NFT Crate, priced between $119 and $149, will offer two official or fantasy Formula E cars and two official or fantasy Formula E drivers. Notably, the Team Crate guarantees at least one NFT of epic or legendary rarity. To facilitate these purchases, buyers will need a Blokto wallet connected to the Flow blockchain and can conduct transactions using the REVV token.

"Formula E: High Voltage" isn't just a standalone game; it's a vital component of the expansive REVV motorsport ecosystem. This dynamic ecosystem brings together a diverse collection of licensed blockchain racing games, providing players with a wide range of racing experiences.

Will Griffiths, a representative from Animoca Brands, recently discussed the continually evolving landscape of this ecosystem. He emphasizes the transformative potential of NFTs and blockchain technologies, not only as gaming tools but also as instruments of value and ownership.

For fans, this signifies a heightened level of engagement and immersion, as they can genuinely possess unique digital assets. For players, it translates to an enriched gaming experience where achievements and assets hold tangible value and can be traded or kept as collectibles.

As the boundaries between the digital and physical realms continue to blur, "Formula E: High Voltage" serves as an example of how innovations in Web3 gaming can bridge these dimensions. By combining the excitement of electric car racing with the capabilities of the Flow blockchain and NFTs, Animoca Brands and Ember are not only enhancing the gaming experience but also pushing the boundaries of sustainable digital entertainment. With NFT offerings and seamless integration into the broader REVV motorsport ecosystem, "Formula E: High Voltage" is poised to shape the future of racing games in the metaverse. As the launch date approaches, the racing community and blockchain enthusiasts alike eagerly await this electrifying journey.
