Oct 26, 2022

In connection with the new rules, the Apple Store has given permission to conduct NFT transactions in applications.

Organizations are not allowed to redirect their own customers to other sites. All transactions must take place on the Apple platform.

The App Store updated the terms of use after the release of the updated software version for Apple iOS 16.1 devices. The version includes provisions for programs that work with NFTs.

Clause 3.1.1. says that organizations have the ability to offer the creation, implementation and acquisition of NFTs in their applications. The applications will allow its members to view personal NFTs and series of NFTs that belong to other members. This will be realistic as the apps don't provide any options for redirecting users other than buying directly from the app itself.

Therefore, all transactions with NFTs must be made on the Apple platform, the commission will be in the amount of 30% of all transactions within applications. In addition, the guidelines prohibit organizations from using personal tools to unlock content or features.

According to the updated guidelines, it will be possible to interact with crypto assets exclusively through exchange applications, and only in those states where the application is licensed or has official permission to carry out activities with crypto assets.

Earlier it became known that Apple introduces an additional tax on NFT trading.
