Arc8 Migrates GMEE from Polygon to Ethereum

Feb 18, 2024

The transition of GMEE from Polygon to Ethereum marks a significant milestone in the tokenomics strategy of the Arc8 platform, renowned for its contributions to the gaming industry. This move is accompanied by several changes in the application, including the discontinuation of custodial wallet storage. For long-term players who have accumulated GMEE tokens in the Arc8 wallet, it is important to begin transferring these tokens to an external wallet of their choice, as the custodial wallet on the blockchain will no longer be part of the Arc8 ecosystem. It is recommended to use MetaMask for its simplicity. Afterward, tokens can be easily withdrawn from the Arc8 website to a personal wallet.

New players have nothing to worry about, as the Arc8 wallet is no longer part of the registration process for new users. They can continue to enjoy rewards from Arc8 without the need to use the built-in custodial wallet or link it, except in cases of creating NFT Beasts or withdrawing token rewards.

During the transition period, GMEE support on Polygon will continue at least until the end of February 2024. However, fraudulent websites have emerged claiming to provide this service, underscoring the importance of using official links provided by Arc8. Players can use GMEE for purchases in the Arc8 store both on the website and in the mobile app until the end of February 2024.

Players who have GMEE stored in Arc8 Pay and do not meet the minimum amount for withdrawal will be able to participate in special tournaments with rewards in MATIC, providing an alternative use for these tokens. Tournaments with entry fees in Arc8 GEMS will also be available for those who have withdrawn all their GMEE to an external wallet.

NFT Beasts and partner rewards will remain on the Polygon network and will not be affected by the transition. Owners of NFT Beasts will be able to continue minting them as usual, and their rewards from partner events will be directly credited to Arc8 Pay for withdrawal.

This transition underscores Arc8's commitment to adapting and enhancing its ecosystem, providing users with more flexible and secure ways to manage their digital assets.
