Arkham Intelligence announced a $150,000 bounty for identifying the creator of the DJT token, based on Solana, which surged by 500% on Monday amid unfounded rumors of its connection to Donald Trump.
The bounty will be active for eight days and will be paid in 100,000 Arkham (ARKM), which is currently valued at $1.56 per token, according to CoinMarketCap.
“Find definitive proof of the $DJT token creator. We will accept private evidence for this bounty, but if accepted, this evidence will be made public,” the bounty notice stated.
It was also clarified that "the source must be original and not taken from anywhere else on the internet." The Arkham team made it clear that users cannot claim the bounty by simply being the first to link to a news article published elsewhere.
Notable blockchain detective ZachXBT has already submitted his application.
Bets are being placed on whether Trump launched DJT. On the internet, people are betting on whether the DJT token was indeed launched by Trump or a member of his family.
The decentralized betting platform Polymarket reports that nearly $1.7 million is wagered on whether the DJT token is “real.”
Only 17% of the total bets have been placed on “Yes,” but to win, definitive proof must be obtained by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on June 21; otherwise, the market will decide “No.”
The rumor that Trump, allegedly spearheaded by his son Barron Trump, is behind the DJT token first appeared in an X post from the tech blog Pirate Wires, which cited “conversations” but did not specify with whom these conversations took place.
Responding to questions about the source of the information, Pirate Wires creator Mike Solana noted that he “did not speak with Trump directly” and was “simply reporting what I know from sources.”
According to Birdseye, DJT is currently trading at $0.016, which is 50% lower than its peak of $0.036 on Tuesday.
