Aurory announces the closure of Aurory Tactics

Mar 6, 2024

The game development company Aurory has announced the closure of the game Aurory Tactics in order to fully concentrate on the development of its blockchain RPG, Seekers of Tokane. This decision comes after a challenging year for Aurory Tactics, which was marred by issues with cheating and rigged matchmaking.

Jonathan Campo, the head of production at Aurory, shared this decision through a video on the X platform, highlighting the ongoing challenges of the game. Despite attempts to address these issues by banning certain regions, these measures unintentionally hindered the growth of Seekers of Tokane, as players from blocked regions were unable to access the new game.

Faced with the impossible task of balancing the operations of both games, Aurory decided to shut down Aurory Tactics to redirect its resources and fully focus on Seekers of Tokane. The closure process will be gradual, starting with the end of battles with rewards on March 4th, followed by the cessation of reward distribution the next day. The current season of the game will officially end on April 30th.

While Aurory Tactics is coming to an end, there is hope for its fans. Campo hinted at a possible revival of the game in the form of V2, planned for 2025.

The decision to focus on Seekers of Tokane is a strategic move aimed at leveraging blockchain technology to create immersive RPG experiences. By concentrating efforts on one title, Aurory hopes to enhance the quality and level of engagement of its offerings.

As players bid farewell to Aurory Tactics, interest in what Aurory will bring to blockchain gaming with Seekers of Tokane is growing. The studio encourages fans to follow their progress and future projects, ushering in a new era for Aurory.
