Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, has raised alarms about a new wave of scams involving artificial intelligence. In a recent post on social media, he warned the public about impersonators using AI-generated images to misrepresent him. Based on the data provided in the document, these scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated and pose a significant risk to unsuspecting users.
Warning from Zhao
Zhao's warning comes after discovering an account on the platform X that has amassed around 863,000 followers. This account is using a photo from a BNB Chain event in Korea as its profile banner while sharing numerous AI-generated images that falsely depict Zhao alongside various individuals.
Identifying Fraudulent Images
To help the community identify these fraudulent images, Zhao provided specific details, stating that he would never wear blue or purple clothing and highlighted the inconsistent resolution of the people in the images, a common indicator of AI-generated content. He also mentioned that some of these images might have originated from a legitimate photo of himself with Aster CEO Leonard.
Call for Vigilance
Zhao urged users to remain vigilant against such scams and reassured them that the Binance team is always receptive to genuine feedback.
