Bybit has made a significant move in the Latin American market by launching Bybit Pay in Peru, a service designed to facilitate cryptocurrency payments through popular local digital wallets. According to analysts cited in the report, the outlook is promising for enhancing the accessibility of crypto transactions for millions of Peruvians.

Integration of Bybit Pay with Yape and Plin

The integration of Bybit Pay with Yape and Plin, two of Peru's leading digital wallets, allows users to make cryptocurrency payments seamlessly using their existing Yape QR codes and Plin phone number transfers. This development is expected to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the burgeoning digital economy in the country.

Impact on Peru's Cashless Economy

With Yape and Plin boasting around 14 million users each, Bybit Pay is poised to significantly impact Peru's cashless economy. In 2024, Yape and Plin accounted for 54% and 34% of in-person transactions, respectively, highlighting their dominance in the market. Bybit Pay supports multiple cryptocurrencies, including:

  • USDT
  • USDC
  • BTC
  • ETH

ensuring fast and secure transactions for users.

Exclusive Rewards for Users

To celebrate the launch, Bybit Pay is offering exclusive rewards for both new and existing users, further incentivizing the adoption of cryptocurrency payments in Peru. This initiative marks a crucial step in promoting the use of digital currencies in everyday transactions across the nation.

Bybit has recently launched its XAUT Flexible Easy Earn program, allowing users to earn up to 11% APR on tokenized gold holdings, a move that contrasts with its recent introduction of Bybit Pay in Peru. For more details, see read more.
