Mar 17, 2024

Carbonated Inc. has raised $11 million in a Series A funding round led by Com2uS, a well-known leader in the mobile gaming industry from South Korea. These funds will be directed towards accelerating the development of their highly anticipated game MadWorld, which combines shooter elements with Web3 technologies. The round also saw participation from renowned investors such as a16z, Bitkraft Ventures, and WAGMI Ventures.

MadWorld is a shooter game with blockchain elements set in a devastated Earth where players must fight for survival. The game features a vast map with over 250,000 unique land plots available for players to acquire. This adds a strategic element of resource management and territory control.

To further deepen the gameplay, the team plans to introduce an in-game currency called Rounds. This currency will add more depth to the strategic aspects of the game, moving towards a virtual economy on the blockchain.

Travis Boatman, CEO of Carbonated Inc., emphasized the important role of mobile games in popularizing Web3 technologies among the masses. He noted that mobile gamers easily adapt to online transactions, suggesting that blockchain mechanics could become widely accepted through well-designed gaming experiences.

MadWorld is not just a game; it symbolizes the evolution of the gaming world, combining classic gaming pleasure with the potential of blockchain. The latest funding round not only highlights the growing interest in Web3 games but also positions Carbonated as a leader in this new era.

Thus, MadWorld aims to transform mobile gaming, offering an exciting experience combined with the latest technologies. With the support of major players and a clear vision for the future, Carbonated Inc. is on the path to creating a more decentralized and immersive metaverse.
