A significant development in the JPEX cryptocurrency fraud case has emerged, as a group of social media influencers finds themselves in legal trouble. Among those charged are lawyer-turned-influencer Joseph Lam and popular YouTuber Chan Wingyee, who are accused of playing pivotal roles in promoting the now-defunct JPEX platform. According to the results published in the material, the case has drawn considerable attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved.

Influencers Charged in JPEX Scandal

The influencers are facing multiple charges for their involvement in JPEX, where they allegedly served as the public face of its trading operations. This comes in the wake of JPEX's collapse in September 2023, which raised serious concerns about the legitimacy of the platform and its operations.

Police Action and Arrests

On November 5, police took action by arresting and charging 16 individuals, including key members of the JPEX syndicate. The crackdown highlights the ongoing investigation into the fraudulent activities surrounding JPEX and the role of influencers in potentially misleading the public about the cryptocurrency's viability.

In a related context, Vietnam has recently dismantled a significant cryptocurrency fraud operation that exploited investors through deceptive token projects. For more details, see this article.
