Analysis of Ripple CEO's Artwork Impact on XRP Community
A framed artwork unveiled by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has ignited enthusiasm within the XRP community. The artwork features a stencil-style portrayal of a contemplative chimpanzee with a sign declaring "Laugh now, but one day XRP will power the world." Adapting Banksy's iconic piece, this artwork symbolizes a shift in Banksy's focus towards activism.
Monkeys, a recurrent motif in Banksy's work, may represent a guerrilla graffiti artist. The original "Laugh Now" piece made its debut in a guerrilla exhibition in East London, commissioned by a hip-hop club, and later showcased in Los Angeles.
This artwork marks Banksy's transition from street art to political activism. While some XRP community members expressed optimism following Garlinghouse's post, Vet from the XRP Ledger dUNL proposed minting the artwork on the XRP Ledger.
The defiant monkey depictions in Banksy's art could metaphorically highlight the XRP community's resistance against the SEC. Yet, some skeptics mentioned XRP's significant price decrease from its peak.
