Analysis of US Spot Bitcoin ETFs and Market Trends - Continued
The recent performance of US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and associated market trends continue to depict interesting dynamics.
The US spot bitcoin ETFs, as reported by The Block, encountered net outflows of $13.62 million, while Grayscale's GBTC noted substantial net outflows amounting to $32.38 million.
In comparison, BlackRock's IBIT attracted inflows totaling $14.12 million, and Fidelity's FBTC received inflows of $5.42 million. VanEck's bitcoin fund saw an influx of $3.51 million, and both Ark Invest and 21Shares' ARKB reported net inflows of $2.48 million on the same day.
Despite the notable outflows, the 11 bitcoin funds collectively recorded a trading volume of less than $1 billion, a stark contrast to the trading activity observed in March, where daily volumes peaked between eight to ten billion dollars. Since their debut in January, the ETFs have cumulatively accrued a net inflow of $14.64 billion.
Meanwhile, the price of bitcoin demonstrated a 3.51% decrease over the past 24 hours, settling at $60,876 at the time of publication based on data from The Block's bitcoin price page.
Even with the price decline, projections from Standard Chartered indicated a potential rally for bitcoin, with expectations of reaching its all-time high in August and potentially hitting $100,000 by the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November.
Nevertheless, Standard Chartered postulated a scenario where the withdrawal of current U.S. President Joe Biden from the election could trigger a further price downturn for bitcoin, possibly ranging between $50,000 and $55,000.
