Sony has announced the August 2024 lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. The lineup includes 15 games releasing on August 20, featuring the TimeSpillters and Sword Art Online franchises.
August Main Games
Sony unveiled a new lineup of games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. The catalog features ten games for both subscriptions and five exclusive to Premium. The headline game is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, allowing players to explore the fantasy world of Geralt of Rivia and battle monsters in his quest to find Ciri. The game, which received a 95% Metacritic score, offers an immersive adventure. PS5 players will also enjoy Cult of the Lamb, a game where players control a possessed lamb saved by a dark god, and build a community of worshipers to grow their power. Additionally, PS5 owners can access WatchDogs 2 from Ubisoft. This open-world game involves a hacker based in San Francisco trying to infiltrate the city's surveillance system and received an 82% Metacritic score. Another game available on PS5 is Wild Hearts, released by Dynasty Warriors in 2023. The game features epic creature battles and earned a 79% Metacritic score. Rider5, developed by Milestone in 2023, will also be included in the PS5 August catalog. The game offers a realistic first-person mode that greatly enhances motorcycle performance.
TimeSplitters and Sword Art Online Franchises in August Catalog
The lineup also includes Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, released in 2018. The game features various characters from the Boruto series in ninja combat settings. The game offers numerous modes and is based on Naruto's legacy. The Sword Art Online franchise is also included, with Sony specifying Last Recollection, Alicization Lycoris, Fatal Bullet, and Hollow Realization for PS4.
Classic Games and VR Projects
Sony also unveiled classic games such as TimeSplitters, TimeSplitters 2, and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect available for PS Plus Premium. These games were developed by Free Radical Design and published by Eidos Interactive and EA. PS Plus Premium subscribers can also access Vacation Simulator on PSVR 2.
