Layer-1 blockchain Avalanche finalized a $250 million private token sale to support the Avalanche9000 upgrade. The round, completed on December 12, was led by Galaxy Digital, Dragonfly, and ParaFi Capital.

Key Elements of Avalanche9000 Upgrade

Avalanche9000 is hailed as the network's most significant upgrade, aiming to enhance developer-friendliness, cost efficiency, and scalability. The announcement indicated a 99.9% reduction in blockchain deployment costs, easing expenses for developers and transitioning validators to a more affordable subscription model. Key features include interchain communication, over $40 million in developer incentives, and scalability enhancements.

DeFi and Gaming Achievements

Avalanche’s Total Value Locked (TVL) has surged to $1.65 billion, its highest in nearly two years, underscoring its growing appeal within the DeFi ecosystem. In the gaming sphere, "Off The Grid," a game on Avalanche, became the most downloaded free game on the Epic Games store in October.

Growing Institutional Adoption

Institutional adoption is on the rise as BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund expanded to Avalanche, and Franklin Templeton added Avalanche to its platform with the OnChain US Government Money Market Fund.

With the Avalanche9000 upgrade and increased institutional backing, Avalanche is gaining prominence in the blockchain industry and expanding its use cases.
