Fiamma, backed by Lightspeed Faction, teams up with Babylon Labs to enhance decentralized Bitcoin solutions focusing on trust minimization and new tech.
Collaboration Between Babylon Labs and Fiamma
Fiamma has secured strategic investment from Babylon Labs to implement a vision of decentralization powered by Bitcoin. This collaboration aims to develop trust-minimized Bitcoin bridges for developers and blockchains.
Technological Integration and Achievements
Babylon Labs and Fiamma plan to integrate zero-knowledge technology into Bitcoin through the BitVM2 protocol, unleashing new potential across Bitcoin's 21 million supply. After launching the Bitcoin bridge testnet in November 2024, Fiamma unveiled a devnet for the first zero-knowledge verification layer for Bitcoin using BitVM2. Babylon Labs manages the largest Bitcoin staking protocol with over 57,000 BTC staked and a total value locked of over $6 billion, according to DeFiLlama.
Expansion and Strategic Partnerships
Fiamma is actively expanding amid the growth of real-world applications on Bitcoin. Strategic partnerships include Hack VC, Castle Island Ventures-backed restaking platform Satlayer, and the zero-knowledge virtual machine platform RISC Zero.
The collaboration between Babylon Labs and Fiamma paves new paths for the Bitcoin-secured DeFi ecosystem, enhancing developer capabilities and minimizing trust.
