Binance's CEO, Richard Teng, made a surprise visit to Korea to directly engage with financial authorities in hopes of moving forward with the company's plans to enter the Korean market through the acquisition of Gopax. Korean regulators have been hesitant to approve Gopax's proposed changes, causing a stalemate between Binance and the authorities since late 2022. Teng's visit last Wednesday included discussions with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and other regulatory bodies to potentially find a resolution to the ongoing issue.
