Binance Introduces ZKsync Trading Pairs and Token Distribution Program
Binance recently announced the listing of ZKsync (ZK) trading pairs on its platform. The launch is scheduled for 11:00 AM UTC today. Alongside this listing, the cryptocurrency exchange unveiled a token distribution initiative to address community concerns and enhance ZKsync's reputation.
Deposits Open Prior to Trading
Binance is set to facilitate spot trading in various pairs such as BTC, USDT, FDUSD, and Turkish lira for ZK tokens starting today. Users are now able to deposit ZK tokens in advance for trading purposes and can withdraw funds post the listing. This move coincides with talks about the impending ZKsync AirDrop.

In response to community feedback concerning the ZKsync AirDrop, Binance initiated a token distribution scheme. The exchange plans to allocate 10.5 million ZK tokens among approximately 52,500 users. Eligible participants should have completed a minimum of 50 ZKsync Era transactions across seven different months spanning from February 2023 to March 2024. Moreover, these users must not have availed themselves of any ZK token via the official ZK Nation AirDrop program. The initial token AirDrop is slated for June 25.
Community Critique on AirDrop
Community response primarily centers on the ZK token distribution scheme devised by the ZKsync Foundation a week ago. Concerns arose due to perceived vulnerabilities in the AirDrop system, in particular, the absence of safeguards against Sybil attacks, where individuals create numerous fake accounts to amass more tokens.
Noteworthy figures in the crypto realm, like Mudit Gupta, Polygon's Chief Information Security Officer, raised these issues. Gupta labeled the ZKsync AirDrop as one of the most exploitable and exploited AirDrops thus far, emphasizing the lack of effective Sybil filtering mechanisms.
While the ZKsync team recognized the community's discontent, they stood by their chosen token distribution approach. They sought to alleviate worries by addressing queries through a set of FAQs, asserting that no major issues were detected in the AirDrop process. Despite the criticisms, the team opted to proceed as planned, aiming to reassure users through transparency and active involvement.
