Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume, is expanding access to its Portfolio Margin product for non-VIP customers with a minimum balance of 100,000 USDT in their Cross Margin and Futures accounts.

A larger group of Binance traders will benefit from improved capital efficiency, especially those utilizing complex portfolio strategies without VIP status.

The release of the new Portfolio Margin wallet by Binance marks a notable advancement in asset management for users. The wallet combines USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin wallets into a single, unified wallet to streamline portfolio changes and optimization.

Traders can now utilize assets from the combined futures and margin wallets as collateral for using Binance’s Portfolio Margin, offering 878 trading opportunities across various trading pairs.

Sherrine Tan, Product Marketing Lead at Binance, expressed pleasure in extending Portfolio Margin to eligible non-VIP users to leverage a wide range of supported collateral assets on Binance for trading strategies. The combined Portfolio Margin Wallet reduces friction and simplifies asset management.

Portfolio Margin accounts provide a comprehensive evaluation of a trader’s overall market exposure using a risk-based margin strategy that considers unrealized Profit and Loss (PnL) from Futures and Cross Margin trading activities.

This method increases trader flexibility in portfolio management, boosts capital efficiency, enhances arbitrage possibilities, and provides a valuable risk management tool.

Portfolio Margin supports the widest selection of collateral assets in the market, available for use alongside USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin trading products, offering competitive collateral ratios to optimize capital efficiency.

Moreover, the new feature enables balancing of positions among the three trading products, allowing netting of unrealized PnL. The integration into a single Portfolio Margin wallet streamlines the supervision and management of collateral assets and PnL.

Dedicated API endpoints for Portfolio Margin trading enhance the trading experience for USD-M Futures, COIN-M Futures, and Cross Margin products.
