Bio Protocol announced the launch of Long COVID Labs on January 9. The project aims to accelerate the cure of Long COVID with decentralized science (DeSci).
Long COVID Labs Vision
Long COVID Labs aims to tackle challenges left by COVID-19. The project claims that 20% of recovered patients still have viral remnants, including spike proteins, in their bloodstream. 40% of those diagnosed with Long COVID suffer from chronic illness. Long COVID Labs aims to cure Long COVID, unlock treatments for billions, and redefine the future of medicine.
Project Founders
The founders of the project include: Rohan Dixit, healthcare entrepreneur and former neuroscientist at Stanford; Ruth Ann Crystal (MD), Stanford physician entrepreneur; Jacob Glenville, Centivax founder; Annelise Barron, Stanford bioengineering professor.
Largest Decentralized Clinical Trial Network
The project claims to be the largest decentralized clinical trial network, using machine learning to identify patterns, optimize trials, and suggest individualized treatments. Long COVID Labs aims to shift the focus from investors to patients.
Long COVID Labs presents a new model of involvement with governance tokens held by patients to influence research and financial outcomes. BIO Protocol was announced as the 63rd project on Binance Launchpool.
