A significant amount of Bitcoin, totaling over $6 billion, has been moved by a whale to three new addresses, generating interest within the crypto community.
The transaction, initially identified by the blockchain research platform Arkham Intelligence, involved sending $5.03 billion to one address (bc1q8yj) and $561.46 million and $488.40 million to two other addresses (bc1q6m5 and bc1q592).
The wallet managing the massive transfer, ranked as the sixth richest Bitcoin address, holds more than 94,500 BTC. Notably, the transaction did not include moving funds between interconnected wallets, reducing speculation about the whale's intentions.
Conversely, BlackRock's Bitcoin wallet has been amassing Bitcoin at a rapid pace following the introduction of its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) in early 2024. Currently, BlackRock possesses 243,126 BTC for the fund, establishing itself as a key institutional investor in Bitcoin, closing in on major exchanges and fellow ETF provider Grayscale.
The relentless demand for the IBIT ETF may outperform these entities, positively impacting Bitcoin's price. Presently, Bitcoin is valued at over $65,500, marking a value surge in the past 24 hours according to CoinMarketCap.
