Bitget announced a partnership with Spain's La Liga, becoming its official crypto partner.
Expansion into the Sports Market
The partnership was announced during the Token2049 event in Singapore, marking Bitget’s entry into the sports market across Eastern and Southeast Asia, as well as Latin America. The multi-million dollar deal brings exclusive benefits to both parties and aligns with their shared 'Make It Count' philosophy.
Comment from Bitget CEO
Bitget’s CEO, Gracy Chen, emphasized the importance of digital innovation in sports, stating: 'As the world of sports increasingly embraces crypto, blockchain, and emerging technologies, these advancements are becoming essential to the transformation. Partnering with LaLiga enables us to drive the adoption of crypto in sports, creating new opportunities for both fans and athletes.'
Growth of Sponsorship in Sports
The growing presence of crypto sponsors in sports highlights the increasing mainstream adoption of digital currencies. This trend is largely fueled by mutually beneficial partnerships between sports organizations and crypto companies, showcasing the integration of digital assets into everyday life. Earlier this year, UEFA sought crypto sponsorships for the 2024–2027 cycle of the men’s Champions League, leading to Crypto.com securing its position as the first and exclusive global cryptocurrency platform partner for the tournament. Similarly, AC Milan announced a long-term partnership with crypto platform Bitpanda, naming it as the club’s 'Premium' and 'Official Crypto Trading Partner.'
The partnership between Bitget and La Liga underscores the growing influence of cryptocurrencies and blockchain in the world of sports, opening up new opportunities for fan engagement.
