BlackRock analysts stated that Bitcoin is a unique portfolio diversifier for investors, especially against financial, monetary, and geopolitical risk factors.
Bitcoin as a Unique Diversifier
BlackRock highlights that due to Bitcoin’s scarcity and decentralized nature, some investors view it as a safe haven in times of fear and geopolitical disruptions: "Bitcoin may be seen as an increasingly unique diversifier."
Bitcoin’s Fundamental Detachment
BlackRock also pointed out that while Bitcoin is highly volatile, it is fundamentally detached from other asset classes. The report mentioned that Bitcoin does not depend on centralized systems or the fortunes of any single country.
IBIT Flows Over the Last 2 Weeks
Over the past two weeks, BlackRock's IBIT flows have been minimal. According to Farside Investors, the fund recorded flows only on September 9 and 16. Despite this, BlackRock maintains a lead in total inflows since the beginning of the year.
Thus, despite high volatility and minimal recent inflows, BlackRock continues to view Bitcoin as a unique and potentially important asset for portfolio diversification.
