BlockDAG has launched its testnet, providing developers access to tools for smart contract and NFT creation, whereas Cardano continues to evolve its technologies.
Testnet Functionality and Developer Tools
The BlockDAG testnet is already operational, enabling developers to launch smart contracts that work with EVM and create NFTs. MetaMask support allows developers to use familiar tools. The BlockDAG structure resembles Ethereum but employs a hybrid model using Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG), allowing for processing between 2,000 and 15,000 transactions per second.
Creating Developer-Friendly Conditions
BlockDAG supports technologies and wallets commonly utilized within the Web3 community. Smart contracts operate with Solidity, and developers can connect to the testnet using MetaMask, eliminating the need to learn new tools. In contrast, Cardano offers its own wallets, such as Daedalus and Yoroi, which do not provide the same level of convenience and speed as MetaMask.
Network Growth and User Engagement
BlockDAG shows progress through user activity, with over 200,000 holders and more than 2 million users of the mobile app X1. Meanwhile, Cardano, despite being one of the leading Layer 1 platforms, faces slowed growth and waning public interest.
The BlockDAG testnet already serves functions that allow developers to work actively. Cardano, while remaining a significant project, encounters difficulties in attracting fast-moving development, which may affect its standing in the emerging technology landscape.
