The developers of the game Spellborne have announced the upcoming launch of their in-game token, BORNE, in August on Blackhole DEX, built on Avalanche.
Launch of BORNE Token
The team behind the monster-collecting RPG Spellborne confirmed that its in-game token, BORNE, will launch in August via Blackhole DEX. The announcement shared on social channels describes BORNE as a 'gateway to nostalgia' and mentions that its trading will align with the ve(3,3) framework of Blackhole. No further details on tokenomics, staking, or distribution have been confirmed.
Part of a Broader Ecosystem
The upcoming token release follows a period of activity for Spellborne, which recently expanded to mobile platforms with full iOS and Android support. The game has now tracked over 30 million battles and more than 3.5 million monsters captured since launch. In late July, the studio also confirmed plans to expand to Abstract Chain, a zkSync-based Ethereum Layer 2 designed for high-speed, low-cost transactions.
What is Blackhole DEX?
Blackhole is a decentralized exchange built on Avalanche, serving as a liquidity hub for the ecosystem. The platform integrates cross-chain capabilities through LayerZero and features a unique governance structure using Supermassive veNFTs. Blackhole offers liquidity bootstrapping tools like Genesis Pools and Bribe Markets.
The launch of the BORNE token and the expansion to new blockchains highlight Spellborne's ambitious plans for developing its in-game economy and marketplace infrastructure.
