Chainlink officially launched the CCIP v1.5 upgrade on the mainnet. This major enhancement allows developers to interact more easily with cross-chain tokens, providing new tools for seamless integration and deployment across multiple blockchains.

Key Features of CCIP v1.5

A pivotal feature of the CCIP v1.5 upgrade is the introduction of the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard. This allows token developers to integrate both new and existing tokens into the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol without the need to include CCIP-specific code in the token contracts.

Self-Serve Deployment and Customization

With the new upgrade, developers have the opportunity to deploy pre-audited token pool contracts to convert any ERC20-compatible token into a CCT.

Expanding USDC Access

Alongside the v1.5 upgrade, CCIP is expanding its support for Circle’s Bridged USDC Standard. This is essential for addressing liquidity fragmentation in the multi-chain ecosystem.

The release of CCIP v1.5 marks a significant milestone for Chainlink in solidifying its position within the crypto space. New features and partnerships facilitate broader adoption of their technologies.
