Chimpzee has launched the 'Save the Planet & Win Big' initiative, which uses blockchain technology and NFTs to fund conservation and wildlife projects.
New Philanthropic Model through NFTs
The initiative combines reusable NFTs with direct funding for ecological actions, raising $250,000 for verified environmental causes. The Chimpzee team sold 5,000 Charity Tickets, each priced at $50.
Collaboration with Environmental Organizations
The funds collected support environmental projects, such as planting over 20,000 trees and protecting 1,000 sqm of rainforest. Partners include 'One Tree Planted' and 'WILD Foundation', which implement on-ground actions. The model allocates 10% of ticket sales to tree planting efforts.
Technological Integration and Focus on Sustainability
The Chimpzee model advocates for ongoing participation and impact rather than static contributions to charity. It also employs Ethereum’s proof-of-stake mechanism, minimizing environmental impact. The team stated: 'Our aim is to create a sustainable environment through direct contributions from every Charity Ticket sold.'
The Chimpzee initiative continues to gain traction, setting new standards for blockchain philanthropy and highlighting the importance of technological integration in supporting ecological causes.
