Commercial Bank of Dubai Joins Dubai FinTech Summit as Key Banking Partner

The national bank Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has revealed its partnership with the Dubai FinTech Summit (DFS), which is organized by Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a major financial hub in the MEASA region.

This collaboration demonstrates CBD's dedication to supporting innovative businesses globally, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the financial industry.

The strategic partnership was made official in the presence of Arif Amiri, DIFC Authority's CEO, and Dr. Bernd van Linder, Commercial Bank of Dubai's CEO. Mohammad Alblooshi, DIFC Innovation Hub's CEO, and Ali Imran, Commercial Bank of Dubai's COO, represented their organizations at the signing ceremony.

Commercial Bank of Dubai is recognized for being the first bank to establish a Digital Lab at the DIFC Innovation Hub. Through initiatives like the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solution by Postpay, CBD has actively contributed to the advancement of the payments sector, fueling the growth of the FinTech industry.

Arif Amiri highlighted the importance of the partnership, emphasizing that the Dubai FinTech Summit acts as a platform for creating strong partnerships and uniting visionaries, innovators, and disruptors in the finance industry. He pointed out that the collaboration with Commercial Bank of Dubai showcases a joint commitment to nurturing a dynamic FinTech ecosystem.

Dr. Bernd van Linder expressed excitement about participating in the Dubai FinTech Summit 2024, seeing it as a global platform that brings together industry leaders to shape the future of finance. He reiterated CBD's dedication to innovation and its goal of spearheading the FinTech revolution with a customer-centric approach.

In line with Dubai's ambitious D33 Agenda to become a top global financial hub by 2033, the 2nd edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit aims to promote cross-border collaboration and innovation crucial for transforming the global FinTech sector.

Scheduled for May 6-7, 2024, at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, the summit will gather over 8,000 decision-makers, 300 thought leaders, and 200 exhibitors, providing a platform to explore emerging FinTech trends and their impact on financial progress in the MEASA region.

The partnership between Commercial Bank of Dubai and Dubai International Finance Centre underscores their shared commitment to fostering innovation and driving financial progress, positioning Dubai as a major hub for FinTech innovation globally.
