Hong Kong-based crypto exchange OSL has announced a rebranding as part of its global expansion strategy.
Partnership with Pentagram
OSL announced a partnership with Pentagram, a multinational design consultancy, to lead a 'strategic brand refresh'. Pentagram, known for its work with Citibank, Mastercard, Reddit, and Slack, will assist OSL in creating a standout brand in a competitive market. Jack Tan, Chief Marketing Officer of OSL, described the collaboration as the 'creative force' needed to amplify the company’s global presence and forge deeper connections with a wider audience.
OSL Licensure and Achievements
OSL is one of only two licensed digital asset exchanges in Hong Kong, having received its license from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in December 2020. OSL also made history by becoming the first crypto firm to join MSCI Hong Kong’s market-cap weighted index, highlighting its prominence in the local market.
Fight Against Fraud
In March, the SFC warned about fraudulent websites impersonating crypto exchanges in Hong Kong, including sites mimicking OSL Digital Securities Limited and another platform, HSKEX. These fake websites were added to the SFC’s Suspicious Virtual Asset Trading Platforms Alert List after complaints from users who had difficulties withdrawing funds.
The rebranding and partnership with Pentagram are part of OSL's global expansion efforts. These steps aim to strengthen the exchange's position in the global market and build greater trust among users.
