Apple Mac systems, known for their strong security, face a new threat called Cthulhu Stealer.
Overview of Cthulhu Stealer Threat
Cybersecurity firm Cado Security has warned Mac users about this malware, capable of stealing personal information and crypto wallet data.
Functionality and Mechanisms
Recently, Cado Security identified a new malware targeting macOS users named Cthulhu Stealer. This malware, written in GoLang, masquerades as legitimate software like CleanMyMac or Adobe products within an Apple disk image (DMG).
Possible Precautionary Measures
Cado Security asserts that although Cthulhu Stealer is no longer active, users need to stay vigilant. Examples of other malware like Silver Sparrow, KeRanger, and Atomic Stealer prove that macOS systems are not entirely immune to malicious attacks.
