David Schwartz, Ripple's Chief Technology Officer, is once again returning to the infrastructure of XRP Ledger, now on his own terms. He has announced the deployment of a new data center in New York City.
Technical Features of the New Hub
Schwartz reported that the new server will be equipped with an AMD 9950X CPU, 256GB RAM, and high-speed NVMe storage. The operating system will be Ubuntu LTE, and the connection will be unmetered with 10GB. The hub aims to create a reliable public infrastructure with reserved slots for key validators and XRPL applications.
Transaction and Account Growth in XRPL
Over the past month, XRPL recorded more than 70 million new transactions, totaling 3.83 billion. Just last month, there were 13.5 million transactions, averaging 1.8 million per day. The number of accounts on XRPL has now exceeded 7 million, with over 1 million new users registered in 2025.
Legal and Financial Aspects of Ripple
Earlier, Schwartz expressed concerns about stagnation in XRPL usage despite Ripple's collaboration with over 300 banks. He identified regulatory uncertainty as the primary issue, leading to off-chain institutional activity. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse noted that the company has applied for a national bank charter in the U.S., allowing it to bypass traditional banks.
David Schwartz's return to XRPL infrastructure highlights the importance of quality managed solutions to boost activity in the ecosystem, particularly in light of the growing challenges and opportunities in this field.
