Jun 11, 2024

Revised Schedule for ASI Token Merger

The recent delay in the completion of the ASI token merger has been officially communicated by the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance. The scheduled date, initially set for June 13, has been rescheduled to July 15.

In an official update shared through X, the ASI Alliance highlighted its commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful integration process for the awaited token merger.

The ASI token merger involves the tokens of SingularityNET, FetchAI, and Ocean Protocol namely FET, AGIX, and OCEAN respectively. The new completion date for this merger is now July 15, 2024.

The announcement emphasized that the rescheduling was deemed necessary to accommodate the logistical demands and technical dependencies involving exchanges, validators, and other key ecosystem collaborators.

The meticulous preparation for the token mergers entailed intricate integrations, precise coordination, and meticulous attention to all operational aspects.

The interdependence with various third-party entities is paramount for the seamless execution of the token merger process while ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders are duly met.

Although regrettable, ASI Alliance stated that the decision to postpone the merger was strategic, aiming to uphold the highest standards of precision and efficiency in the merging process.

Overview of Token Merger Schedule and Steps

Initially, the plan involved renaming FET to ASI today, June 11, followed by the completion of the merger on June 13. However, the latest update reveals that the merger of FET, AGIX, and OCEAN into the new ASI token is now slated for July 15.

During this transition phase, the existing FET, AGIX, and OCEAN tokens will continue trading independently on exchanges until the ASI token is officially launched.

Once the finalizations of third-party integrations are concluded, the ASI token will be introduced, and the individual trading of the three tokens will cease, merging into the unified ASI token.

Assistance and Communication

Official support and guidance will be provided through the respective channels of FET, AGIX, Ocean, and the new ASI token. Additionally, details regarding token contracts, migration contracts, and potential audits will be shared in the upcoming week.

Humayun Sheikh, CEO of Fetch.ai and chairman of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, explained that the rescheduling was necessitated by adjustments from their partners. Nonetheless, he affirmed the unwavering commitment and vision of the alliance towards the project.

Ben Goertzel, the founder and CEO of SingularityNET Foundation and the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, emphasized the ongoing efforts to navigate the complexities of the groundbreaking tokenomic merger. The integration of AI and blockchain technologies is progressing, paving the way towards a more capable AI ecosystem.

Bruce Pon, founder and CEO of Ocean Protocol and board director of the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance Council, expressed appreciation for the community's patience. He anticipates the combined ASI token eagerly.

Token holders have been reassured that there are no immediate actions required on their part, with no further delays expected in the upcoming stages.
