The subsidiary of the German telecommunication company Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, has announced its intention to engage in Bitcoin mining. Dirk Roder, the Head of Web3 Infrastructure and Solutions at Deutsche Telekom, revealed this strategic decision at BTC Prague, a prominent Bitcoin event in Europe. Roder explained the company's shift towards Bitcoin, highlighting the progression from ignoring the cryptocurrency in 2022 to actively planning Bitcoin mining in 2024. Roder mentioned that since 2023, Deutsche Telekom has been operating Bitcoin nodes and Lightning nodes, with future plans to delve into mining. This step signifies Deutsche Telekom's significant expansion in cryptocurrency operations and services.
