Do Kwon has sought refuge in Montenegro amidst his legal troubles, evading extradition to the USA and South Korea. His absence is notable in the ongoing trial between Terraform Labs and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he is accused of deceiving American citizens.
The SEC lawyers claim that Terraform’s operations were based on falsehoods, including misleading information about TerraUSD and its connection to a South Korean payment platform. In response, Terraform’s lawyer, Louis Pellegrino, defends Kwon's integrity, arguing that the SEC has misinterpreted his actions.
The legal battle has been ongoing since February 2023 when the SEC filed a lawsuit against Terraform for crypto asset securities fraud. Despite Kwon's absence from the trials, the LUNA Coin continues to be traded at $0.92, albeit with decreased interest following the ecosystem's downturn.
Kwon's legal maneuvers in Montenegro have delayed his extradition, leaving the outcome of the trial uncertain. For further updates, refer to COINTURK NEWS.
