South Korea's Dunamu, operator of the Upbit exchange, has partnered with Vietnam's MB Bank to launch the country's first domestic cryptocurrency exchange.
Collaboration between Dunamu and MB Bank
Dunamu and MB Bank signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a business forum in Seoul, marking a significant step in Vietnam's efforts to regulate digital assets.
Dunamu's Support
Dunamu will provide MB Bank with technological infrastructure, regulatory guidance, and expertise in investor protection, effectively exporting Korea's proven exchange model. A Dunamu official stated, 'The partnership is especially significant as Dunamu is exporting Korea’s exchange model and technology as part of an overseas state-led initiative.'
Regulatory Trends of Digital Assets in Vietnam
The agreement aligns with Vietnam's regulatory trends as the National Assembly passed a law legalizing virtual assets in June. MB Bank, established in 1994, will anchor the rollout of digital asset services within a trusted banking framework.
The partnership between Dunamu and MB Bank marks a significant milestone in the development of digital finance in Vietnam and reflects regulatory trends in the region.
