Dutch authorities took action against a suspected cryptocurrency scam involving the ZKasino platform, resulting in the arrest of a 26-year-old man by the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD). The individual faces charges of fraud, embezzlement, and money laundering in connection with the platform's activities, which reportedly attracted over $30 million in cryptocurrency investments.
Seizing assets totaling €11.4 million, including cryptocurrency, real estate, and a luxury car, the FIOD's crackdown on the ZKasino platform revealed a "rug pull" scheme. This scheme involved offering high returns to investors within a short period of 30 days, while the smart contract behind the platform was purposely designed to prevent the fulfillment of these promises.
