Since the release of The Sims 4 in 2014, EA has released 16 major expansions and over 60 minor updates. The latest game expansion, The Sims 4: Lovestruck, was released on July 24. The next major expansion, Life and Death, is set to be released on October 31.
Cyberpunk and Other Future Expansion Themes
The survey focuses on collecting fan feedback on 'high-level' ideas for future expansions. It mentions 12 concepts, including a cyberpunk-themed expansion. This theme explores a technologically advanced world with cybernetics. The expansion could include tech hobbies and new professions. Other themes include life stages, a late 20th-century retro world, modern monarchy, travel van and camping, as well as oceanic and coastal landscapes.
Impact of Fan Feedback
EA actively engages with fans, reflecting their interests in new expansions. Previously released expansions, such as The Sims 4: Growing Together in 2023 and High School in 2022, focus on childhood and teenage years. There have been no expansions dedicated to elderly life, triggering anticipation among players.
