Edward Gaming (EDG) has emerged as winners of the Valorant Champions 2024, securing a place for themselves in the annals of esports history after their astounding performance during the grand finals against Team Heretics. The best-of-five series finals began with Team Heretics winning map one Haven at 13-6. They opened up with a heavy start, leaving EDG on defense throughout the match. Despite Heretics’ gallant effort to get back into the game, EDG kept cool and went away with a victory of 13-9 that led to a series victory of 3-1 and hence became Valorant Champions for the year 2024. The victory of EDG was punctuated by Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang who made a record 111 kills in a best-of-five series. The MVP for Valorant Champions 2024, he put in an extraordinary performance that showed how much he contributed to the success of EDG. Young Hsieh Meng-hsun, known as S1Mon, is among the rookies who won their first-ever championship right away.
