Eigen Foundation announced its long-awaited second round of reward distribution, also known as Stakedrop. Participants who staked during the second season will gain access to the claims page.
Beginning of Reward Distribution Process
Claims for participation in Stakedrop will open on September 17, 2024. The data for the airdrop will be based on a snapshot of staking from August 15. Rewards will be given to community members, ecosystem partners, and staking operators.
Reward Calculation and Participation Preparation
Rewards will be calculated based on staked Ethereum (ETH) and EIGEN staking. 70 million EIGEN will be distributed during the event, making up 4.2% of the total token supply. The largest share, around 58 million EIGEN, will go to ETH stakers based on the length of their staking period.
Future Plans and Importance of EIGEN Token
Eigen Foundation will start a new staking incentive program to be announced later. The release of EIGEN tokens for trading is expected at the end of September, but tokens may not be immediately transferable. There is also the possibility of additional staking to earn further rewards.
Eigen Foundation continues to develop its ecosystem and attract new participants through incentive programs and reward distributions. The EIGEN token is expected to become a significant asset within the ecosystem.
