EigenLayer has made a significant advance by announcing the Multi-Chain Verification feature, allowing its Actively Validated Services to operate across multiple networks.
Announcement of Multi-Chain Verification
On July 24, 2025, EigenLayer announced the launch of its new Multi-Chain Verification feature via EigenCloud X account. Previously, Actively Validated Services (AVS) could only operate on Ethereum's mainnet, limiting their scalability due to high transaction fees and slow processing speeds.
Testing and Updates
The Multi-Chain Verification feature is now available as a public preview on Base Sepolia, the testnet version of Base. This allows developers to test AVSs in multi-chain environments ahead of the feature's release on the mainnet in the coming months. EigenLayer reports that operator data will be refreshed daily, and urgent updates, such as slashing events or node operator removals, will be synced instantly across supported chains.
EigenLayer's Expansion Strategy
The launch of the new feature is part of EigenLayer's broader strategy to establish what it calls a 'verifiable cloud' for decentralized applications and services. Since rebranding its infrastructure to EigenCloud in June, the protocol has amassed over $17 billion in staked ETH and EIGEN tokens according to DeFiLlama data.
EigenLayer continues to deepen its network by partnering with key players and developing robust, flexible, and secure solutions for developers deploying applications across multiple chains.
