Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X and CEO of Tesla, clarified that his new artificial intelligence company, xAI, has no plans to make money by sharing its technology with Tesla.

Musk's Clarification

This clarification came after a report by The Wall Street Journal suggested that xAI and Tesla might be working together and that xAI could get paid for sharing its advanced AI systems. On September 8, Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain that xAI’s technology is too advanced to be used in Tesla’s cars.

Social Media Statement

Musk wrote: "Haven’t read the article, but the above is not accurate. Tesla has learned a lot from discussions with engineers at xAI that have helped accelerate achieving unsupervised FSD, but there is no need to license anything from xAI. The xAI models are gigantic, containing, in compressed form, most of the human knowledge, and couldn’t possibly run on the Tesla vehicle inference computer, nor would we want them."
