The EthCC 2025 conference, held from June 30 to July 3 in Cannes, brought together numerous participants to discuss new ideas and technologies in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
Wall Street's Pledge to Ethereum
EthCC 2025, held at the Palais des Festivals, highlighted Wall Street's increasing interest in web3 technologies. Institutions like BlackRock and Deutsche Bank have begun to actively utilize Ethereum due to its stability and reliability. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin noted: “A lot of institutions basically tell us to our faces that they value Ethereum because it's stable and dependable, because it doesn't go down.” The trend towards integration into traditional financial systems is confirmed by the launch of Robinhood's tokenized stocks and Deutsche Bank's tokenization platform.
New Announcements from The Graph and Binance Pay
Several new initiatives were presented at the conference. Co-founder of The Graph, Yaniv Tal, unveiled Hypergraph, a new data layer for non-financial applications on Ethereum. Binance Pay also announced a partnership with French fintech company Lyzi, allowing more than 80 companies on the Côte d'Azur to accept cryptocurrency via QR codes.
Networking Against Beautiful Backdrops
As part of EthCC, informal meetings facilitated deeper interactions among conference participants. Key events included gaming activities with Pudgy Penguins, where over 700 attendees engaged in gaming, and the Tezos art exhibition which showcased works from 30 artists. The atmosphere at the event encouraged the discussion of ideas and the strengthening of professional ties.
