On its 10th anniversary, Ethereum's founder Vitalik Buterin highlighted the importance of continuous network operation during a live stream. He was joined by Consensys co-founder Joseph Lubin.
Uninterrupted Operation of Ethereum
Vitalik Buterin noted that Ethereum's success is measured not only by new features but by its ability to operate without downtime. Throughout its existence, the network has undergone 18 major upgrades and processed billions of transactions, achieving zero downtime.
Innovations and Network Upgrades
Major updates such as London, Shanghai, and Pecstra have significantly improved the scalability of the network. The surge in interest in NFTs in 2017 helped to drive the ecosystem's growth, and Buterin emphasized the need for ongoing improvements, stating, 'If the network goes offline, digital autonomy is violated.'
Institutional Interest in Ethereum
Ethereum is also becoming increasingly popular among institutional investors as a reserve tool. SharpLink Gaming, associated with Joseph Lubin, has emerged as one of the largest public holders of ETH. Analyst Tom Lee indicates that his company BitMine is preparing for ETH acquisitions, which could positively impact prices in the medium term. However, despite the rise in institutional interest, ETH's price fell by 6.8% in the last 24 hours, reaching $3,600. Buterin remains optimistic about the long-term outlook.
Ethereum's decade is marked not only by stable operations but also by significant development achievements and growing interest from institutional clients, painting an optimistic picture for the network's future.
