Ethereum Foundation, through Executive Director Tomasz K. Stańczak, has issued a warning regarding possible delays in the Fusaka upgrade scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. At the same time, there is increasing interest in the Glamsterdam upgrade expected in 2026.
Concern Over Fusaka Delays
Tomasz K. Stańczak stated on the X platform that the community's focus should be on potential delays in the Fusaka upgrade, which is critical for improvements in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Glamsterdam Upgrade as a Priority
Stańczak highlighted the intensifying interest in the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade, anticipated in the first or second quarter of 2026. However, he warned that this should not overshadow addressing current issues with Fusaka.
Need for Coordination in Upgrade Process
In his statement, Stańczak emphasized that achieving a high level of coordination is essential for successful updates. He added, "There is no point in talking about Ethereum’s roadmap and vision if we cannot achieve the level of coordination required for on-time delivery."
Delays in the Fusaka upgrade could represent a pivotal moment for Ethereum. Prioritizing coordination among development teams may help avoid issues with the implementation of upgrades in the future.
