Ethereum Protocol Changes: Paradigm Urges Acceleration

Paradigm, a crypto venture capital firm, has suggested speeding up changes to the Ethereum protocol to keep it relevant and innovative.

Ethereum Protocol: Need for Changes

In a blog post dated January 25, Paradigm noted that Ethereum's core protocol could evolve faster without compromising its core values. Historically, Ethereum implemented changes about once a year. The firm calls for more, maintaining decentralization and openness.

We think Ethereum’s core protocol could be improving much faster.

Supporting Layer 2 and Innovations

Paradigm expressed a desire for Ethereum Layer 2 networks to inherit security from the base layer through 'native' rollups. This is intended to help scale the network without changing the block gas limit. The firm also proposed improving wallet infrastructure to simplify user experience.

Current Initiatives and Community Support

The Ethereum Foundation plans to allocate 50,000 ETH to support Ethereum's decentralized finance ecosystem and implement changes to actively support developers and provide transparency. These steps aim to strengthen Ethereum's potential and accelerate its development.

Paradigm's proposals could significantly accelerate Ethereum's development without compromising its core values. The community awaits how these proposals will be implemented in practice.
