Bitget has recently introduced a new staking opportunity for ZK tokens, capitalizing on the popularity of zkSync's network. Users are now able to stake their ZK tokens on the PoolX platform to receive rewards. The current staking pool holds 413,700 ZK tokens, with a maximum staking limit set at 4,137,000 ZK tokens. The staking period is scheduled from June 18th to June 28th, offering rewards on an hourly basis determined by the staked token quantities per participant. This method ensures an equitable distribution of rewards proportionate to each user's stake, encouraging active engagement within the zkSync ecosystem.
The recent airdrop of ZK tokens by zkSync led to significant market activity. Reports suggest that 41% of the recipients promptly sold their tokens on the first day, injecting around $500 million worth of ZK tokens into the market. This sudden surge in supply resulted in a temporary price decrease of the token to approximately $0.020. The sell-off involved over 4,160 wallet addresses, with 30% of the top recipients opting to sell a portion of their tokens while close to 29% chose to retain their allocations.
zkSync has unveiled an ambitious token distribution strategy, aiming to distribute 3.67 billion tokens across 695,232 addresses. Noteworthily, despite the extensive distribution, the initial batch primarily benefited a diverse group of recipients, with the top 10,000 wallets holding only a small percentage of the total tokens. This distribution was ahead of the ZKsync (ZK) token listing on Binance, where it began trading with pairs such as ZK/BTC, ZK/USDT, ZK/FDUSD, and ZK/TRY.
The introduction of ZK token staking on Bitget's PoolX platform and the subsequent market movements following the airdrop signify significant progress within the zkSync ecosystem. As zkSync continues with its token distribution and integration endeavors, these actions are expected to influence the token's functionality and market presence in the evolving realm of decentralized finance (DeFi).
