Former US President Found Guilty of Falsifying Business Records

May 31, 2024

Former US President Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records. Trump is set to hold a press release on Friday, May 31, where the final response to the case and the penalties will be announced.

The case against Trump revolved around allegations of concealing personal transactions prior to December 2017. He faced a hush money case in March 2023, making history as the first former or current president accused in criminal charges. Prosecutors presented evidence during the trial, with witnesses detailing the payments involved.

Following the trial by a jury of 12 Manhattan residents from diverse professions, Trump was convicted on all counts. The charges include falsifying business records and interference in the 2016 presidential elections, potentially leading to significant imprisonment and monetary penalties upon sentencing scheduled for July 11.

Trump's planned press release at Trump Tower in Manhattan aims to refute the allegations, asserting the charges are politically motivated. His legal team contests the claims, alleging a conspiracy by the current Democratic administration to hinder his potential White House return. Additionally, Trump's declaration to recommence his election campaign is expected.

Contrary to unverified reports, entrepreneur Elon Musk denied discussions with Trump on implementing policies in crypto, AI, and Web3 sectors. Musk expressed interest in projects empowering individuals by shifting authority from the government to the people, citing cryptocurrencies as a vehicle for such empowerment.
