Asset manager Franklin Templeton has applied to create a new crypto index ETF, which will include Ethereum and Bitcoin assets.
Franklin Templeton's Crypto Index ETF
If approved, the ETF named Franklin Crypto Index ETF, which will trade under the ticker EZPZ, would provide investors with access to digital assets included in the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index. This index is managed by CF Benchmarks, a leading provider of cryptocurrency data to financial firms.
ETF Fund Composition
The initial ETF fund will include assets in Bitcoin and Ethereum, according to a filing submitted on Friday.
Role of Coinbase
Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, was identified as the custodian of the proposed fund. Coinbase is already known for storing digital assets for other large fund managers that have introduced crypto ETFs.
Thus, Franklin Templeton is preparing for the potential launch of a new crypto index ETF that will include Bitcoin and Ethereum, aiming to provide investors with simplified access to these major digital assets.
