  3. Additional Blockchain Services by Google Cloud

Google Cloud has launched a new remote procedure call (RPC) service designed to support Web3 development. This service will facilitate crypto developers' interaction with blockchain data and enhance the reliability of DApps.

Features of the New RPC Service

Google Cloud's RPC service enables developers to access blockchain data and functionality via API calls, and it is compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard. This allows integration into Ethereum-based applications with a single line of code. Initially, the service supports the Ethereum mainnet and test networks, with plans to expand to more blockchains over the next year.

Future Plans and Competition

The service targets a wide range of users, from startups to large enterprises requiring robust infrastructure. It will compete with other RPC providers like Infura, Alchemy, QuickNode, and Ankr, which offer blockchain interaction without the need for full node operations. Additionally, Google Cloud has introduced a free service tier permitting up to 100 requests per second, supporting EIP-1474 — a defined set of RPC methods for Ethereum nodes.

Additional Blockchain Services by Google Cloud

In addition to the new service, Google Cloud provides other blockchain-related infrastructure, including node hosting and data analytics for blockchains such as Ethereum, Solana, and Aptos.

The launch of Google Cloud's new RPC service marks a significant step in simplifying development and enhancing the reliability of decentralized applications by offering convenient access to blockchain data and functionality with Ethereum JSON-RPC standard integration.
