A new eco-friendly Bitcoin alternative known as Green Bitcoin (GBTC) was introduced on Uniswap today at 1PM UTC. The token saw a significant increase of 1.6x shortly after launch when a whale invested $44k in it.

Initially priced at $1.10, GBTC surged by 63% to $1.79 within moments of the whale purchase. However, profit takers have since caused the token to drop by 44%, currently trading at $0.70.

To counteract the decrease, the team has planned buybacks to raise the price gradually. Additionally, around $200,000 in liquidity (or 284,949 GBTC) has been secured for the next year, helping to relieve downward price pressure.

Green Bitcoin's innovative "gamified green staking" protocol made its debut on Uniswap today, providing an interactive way for users to earn rewards. The token will also be listed on a centralized exchange next week, with the trading to start on April 11. Furthermore, an update to the gamification protocol is scheduled for April 18, 2024.

Early investors have poured $9.6 million into GBTC during a month-long ICO, impressed by its unique staking system. Through staking tokens and predicting Bitcoin's price movements daily, users can earn GBTC rewards. Staking helps drive the token's price by reducing its circulating supply.

Green Bitcoin is known for its eco-friendly attributes, with a circulating supply of 21 million, mimicking Bitcoin's capped supply. Running on Ethereum with a Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, GBTC consumes significantly less energy per transaction compared to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin's fourth halving is set to occur on April 19 this year, which historically leads to bull runs due to decreased supply and increased demand. This year, analysts predict a similar scenario with Wall Street's growing interest in Bitcoin ETFs. Despite volatile markets, the anticipated halving could be an opportunity for high returns for those participating in Green Bitcoin's staking program.
